Manchester United will travel down to the midlands in this exciting Premier League clash vs Aston Villa. United trail Villa by seven points going into this fixture.
The Red Devils football this season has been struck with inconsistency. However, the Reds have hit a patch of some great form in the league recently. They have only lost one of their last ten games in the league, losing to Everton in November. United have struggled to stay ahead in games however, going goals up against West ham and Tottenham but ultimately only settling for a draw.
This was seen again in their last match at home versus Bournemouth. Being 2-0 up at half time, it would have been easy to think United could go onto win the match at a canter- this was not the case. Goals from Semenyo, Evanilson and Tavernier pegged United behind. Without individual brilliance from Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha United would have lost the match. A goal from Kroupi did still sink United's dream of taking home the three points. United will be missing key players due to AFCON in this match, such as Diallo and Mbuemo.
It has been an exhilarating season for Villa fans. At the start of the season they were struggling to score goals, but then the tide began to turn. Players like Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins began to perform at higher levels and Villa have shot way up the league into third. They are in touching distance of the top two, Manchester City and Arsenal.
Last time out in the league Villa made it six consecutive wins against, beating West Ham through a stunning goal from Morgan Rogers to make it 2-3 to the visiting Aston Villa. The last time Aston Villa lost a game was against Premier League Champions Liverpool- since then they have beaten current title leaders Arsenal as well as scoring sixteen goals in six games.
United have come out ahead in the last few years against Villa. The last time Villa beat United was in 2022 with goals from now Newcastle player Jacob Ramsey, Lucas Digne and Roma's Leon Bailey. United's only scorer that day was Luke Shaw. The last time the two clubs played was in May, where United finished the game 2-0 after goals from Amad Traore and a penalty from Christian Eriksen.
