It's safe to say Chelsea defender Axel Disasi's career has stalled during the 2025-26 campaign.
Part of the 'bomb squad' under Enzo Maresca, the French international was frozen out of the first team by the ex-Blues boss alongside Raheem Sterling.
However, after Liam Rosenior's arrival, Disasi was reintegrated into the squad, although he hasn't featured under the Englishman so far.
And now, with the January transfer window drawing to a climax, West Ham United are looking to snap him up on loan.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side are locked in a relegation battle as they find themselves 18th in the Premier League standings.
They are five points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest and are faced with an uphill battle to avoid the drop.
Nuno has already added to his squad as the likes of Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe have joined the club this month.
And now, it appears as if they want to shore up their defence with the addition of Disasi.
According to L'Equipe, West Ham are already in talks to sign the Frenchman from Chelsea, while other clubs are also believed to be interested.

The Blues can loan out a maximum of seven players internationally. However, in terms of domestic loans, there isn't a limit, which is a factor that could eventually determine where Disasi ends up.
The Frenchman's last appearance for Chelsea was in January 2025 when he featured in the 3-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.
He was loaned out to Aston Villa during the second half of the 2024-25 campaign and despite featuring regularly, Unai Emery's side opted not to sign him permanently.
He hasn't played any first-team football this season and will take some time to get to grips with the pace of the top-flight.
With West Ham locked in a relegation battle, they need a reliable defender to shore up their backline. Disasi certaintly fit the bill as he is an experienced campaigner for club and country.
However, he could be rusty due to his lack of action this season, so the Hammers need to think twice before making a move for him.
Chelsea, for their part, will be happy to let him go as there seems to be no way back for him at Stamford Bridge despite Rosenior's willingness to allow him to train with his team in recent weeks.
