"We studied South Africa very well and had to change the system from our first group game against Zimbabwe.

"The sending off before half-time completely changed the dynamic for us. But we managed to hold on to our lead for 60 or more minutes with a man down."

With knockouts qualification secured, Egypt can now turn their attention to their final group game against Angola. Hassan could be looking to rest some of his key players. Hossam Hassan's strategy for the upcoming match will be crucial.

"I have a squad of 28 players and we need all of them," Hassan continued. "No one is here because I was looking for names to fill up this list.

"You can see that we always make substitutions, so everyone has to be ready at all times. The game against Angola will certainly not be taken lightly.
