Erling Haaland put up an impressive performance against Crystal Palace to go just one behind the Portuguese Manchester United Legend in the Premier League scoring charts.

A converted Penalty against Dean Henderson- after already scoring in open play earlier in the match- gave the Norwegian his 102nd Premier League goal. This was an astounding 17th goal this season in the top flight. Haaland joined the hundred club back at the start of the month scoring against Fulham in Manchester City's victory at Craven Cottage.

He now stands just a goal away from five time Ballon D'or winner, five time Champions League winner and three time Premier League winner, just to name some of his achievements, Cristiano Ronaldo. CR7 played for Manchester City rivals Manchester United in the 2003/4 season till the 2008/9 season before making a move to Real Madrid- where he would then win countless trophies and individual honours.

Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United in the 2021/22 season, scoring 18 goals for the club in this second debut year for the red side of Manchester. It was this season that Ronaldo joined the 100 goals club in the Premier League, only initially reaching 84 goals in the division with his first stint at the Red Devils. He scored one more goal for Manchester United in the following season before leaving the club for the second time.

His 100th Goal, similarly to Haaland, came against London based opposition in the form of Manchester City's title rivals Arsenal.

Currently Haaland is the 34th in the list of all time Premier League top Goal scorers, but will be hopeful to overtake CR7 in the coming games to become the 33rd.

Ronaldo on the other hand currently plays in Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr. Currently chasing the staggering achievement of 1000 career goals. The Portuguese also still plays regularly for his national team and is expected to feature heavily at the 2026 world cup, at the age of 41 (Currently 40).

Manchester City play relegation candidates West Ham next time in the Premier League. A game that will give Haaland the opportunity to match, or possibly exceed, a legend of not just the Premier League, but of the Footballing world.
