Lewis Koumas has returned to Liverpool after his season-long loan deal at Birmingham City came to a premature end.

Having joined the club aged 11, Koumas spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Stoke City. He fared quite well at the Championship and scored six goals, helping his team avoid relegation on the last day of the season.

The current campaign, however, hasn't gone as planned for the youngster, who is looking to feature in the 2026 FIFA World Cup for Wales.

However, he could be about to get another lifeline from the Championship as Hull City are interested in securing his services.

Koumas got regular game time under his belt for Birmingham but failed to set the world alight with his performances.

He scored just one goal for the club as they find themselves 13th in the Championship table.

However, things could be about to get better for the youngster.

Hull City are interested in signing Koumas on a short-term loan deal until the end of the season, as reported by Paul Gorst of the Liverpool Echo.

The Tigers are fourth in the table and are vying for promotion, so the Welshman has a glorious opportunity to make himself a hero at the MKM Stadium.

Koumas featured in the domestic cups for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp but hasn't made his Premier League debut for the club.

The competition for places in attack is too strong at Anfield at the moment, so it's hard to see him breaking into the first team anytime soon.

However, if he enjoys a good loan spell at Hull and makes a name for himself at the FIFA World Cup for Wales, Koumas could get his chance at Liverpool next season.

For that to happen, though, a lot of things need to go right for the youngster between now and the end of the season.
